Blackbaud opens nonprofit fundraising database to the Canadian market

Last Thursday Blackbaud Inc announced that one of the largest searchable databases of charitable donations was finally going to be made available to subscribers in Canada. For nonprofit fundraising research access to the NOZA Philanthropy Data will be a welcome addition to the research capabilities of those who reside in Canada. The database represents the world’s biggest searchable source of charitable donations, greater than 60 million gift records in America and Canada are housed within. Kathleen Rogers is the NOZA product manager and adds:

“Although NOZA’s Canadian data has been available through several valued partners since 2007, we are pleased to be able to now support the Canadian nonprofit community directly with access to NOZA philanthropy data for nonprofits, fundraising consultants, and nonprofit support centers. We have continued to assemble the most trusted Canadian philanthropic database available on the market today and look forward to providing enhanced service through direct access to more than 2 million gift records to Canadian nonprofits.”

The database provides the key function of helping fundraisers to better identify prospects for charitable giving and also to learn more about the habits and causes being supported by major donors. Subscriptions are available to provide access just to Canadian data or alternately you can subscribe for both markets (Canada and the US). The fully searchable database allows searches to be conducted by region or donor name and is by no means limited to the largest nonprofits. For assessing an accurate portrayal of donor tendencies in the US it’s long been considered the most comprehensive tool on the market in the states. The search functions really set the product apart as you can break down the data by location, a range of dollar amounts and the specific field of fundraising you seek whether it be human rights, healthcare, housing & shelter, environment etc.

The NOZA databases is a service provided by Target Analytics, a Blackbaud company that provides research and screening services to more than 6,000 nonprofit organizations.
