Improve the Effectiveness of Your CSR Business Strategies

Online tool helps companies manage and build their CSR business programs

I continue to be amazed at the online giving and other tools that are available to nonprofits today and it’s probably why I have written about so many of them (even though technically they are competition to some of the professional fundraising services we offer).  A few I have covered include CovergeUS, Razoo, Give2gether, Kickstarter, Kiva City, Givmo, Broadcause, Startsomegood, Donorschoose, FirstGiving and ClickYourSupport. All of these platforms are unique and impressive in their own right and in what they offer nonprofits. I recently came across a different type of online platform, CSR Connect, that benefits for-profit companies by helping to improve its CSR business strategies, employee engagement and its bottom line.

CSR Connect (made possible by Your Cause) does all this by unifying several employee engagement programs, including Employee Giving and Volunteering.  Fully customizable and branded to each company’s corporate culture, organizations can select from a variety of services and functionality that serves their work environment best.

CSR Connect’s Volunteering Program module allows managers and their employees to track volunteering hours, search for volunteering opportunities and provides each employee their personal dashboard to keep track of their contributions and progress.  CSR Connect has also partnered with Idealist to incorporate international volunteering opportunities.

The Donation Manager/Employee Giving module allows employees to fundraise from their own profile on behalf of one or multiple registered charitable organizations and includes secure credit card processing thanks to partnerships with Network for Good and Global Giving (for international transactions). Other features include an external vanity webpage address, goal tracker and receipting capabilities.

CSR Connect also includes:
Relief Manage to help with disaster response fundraising;
Payroll Manager which can incorporate automated onetime, reoccurring and corporate matching gifts;
Cause Cards which is an electronic version of a gift card for employees; and
Grant Manager which helps facilitate employee related grant programs.

CSR Connect’s complementary features include: advanced reporting and analytics, client support via assigned Account Manager, multilingual capability (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Italian and Japanese with German, Korean and Malay on the way), corporate grant online voting programs, and grouping capabilities to unite employees with common altruistic interests. A mobile platform will soon be available that offers the same features the desktop platforms offers along with a Sustainability Manager that will help individual employees track their personal goals of offsetting and/or reducing their carbon footprint.
