Best Countries for Job Satisfaction

As a Canadian business we’re always interested in learning about how happy Canadians are with their jobs. Today, we’ll be adding the 7 best countries for job satisfaction according to a survey commissioned by the job website Monster.ca.

Monster’s study is based on research from GfK’s Globobus. GfK’s Globobus is “one of the world’s largest research companies, with more than 13,000 experts working to discover new insights into the way people live, think and shop, in over 100 markets, every day.” For this study they surveyed 8,000 workers in the seven countries listed below and according to the data, the ranking was as follows:

  1. Canada – Love/like it their job lot: 64%. Hate/don’t like their job: 7%
  2. Netherlands – Love/like it their job lot: 57%. Hate/don’t like their job: 7%
  3. India – Love/like it their job lot: 55%. Hate/don’t like their job: 5%
  4. United States – Love/like it their job lot: 53%. Hate/don’t like their job: 15%
  5. United Kingdom – Love/like it their job lot: 46%. Hate/don’t like their job: 12%
  6. France – Love/like it their job lot: 43%. Hate/don’t like their job: 9%
  7. Germany – Love/like it their job lot: 34%. Hate/don’t like their job: 10%

This study revealed that two-thirds of Canadians are happy with their jobs and that the more money employees made the happier they were with their positions. It is encouraging to see that as the economy recovers from recent economic turmoil, employee satisfaction has remained high for the most part. It is also encouraging for young Canadians just entering the job market, that securing a position there they will feel valued and happy is a very real possibility.
