1. Strummerville is a registered charity in the U.K that was started by the family and friends of the great Joe Strummer, lead singer of The Clash, in the year following his death on December 22, 2002. Strummerville gives aspiring musicians access to resources, opportunity and support to help them follow Joe’s lead and create music that influences people and makes the world a better place. They also fund such initiatives as Strummervile Music Room at Tilinanu Orphanage in Malawi where they created an outlet for formal musical education that otherwise would never have existed. The project also benefited the community as only local builders, carpenters and suppliers were used. You can support Strummerville via donation or by purchasing from their online catalogue of products. Having purchased quite a few items myself, I was impressed with everything I received and the speed that it arrived. A couple of seasonal items you won’t want to miss out on are the newly released Joe Strummer Christmas cards which come in 2 beautiful designs – you won’t be disappointed with the quality or images. The other item not to be missed is the Forever Strummer 10th anniversary 2012 calendar which marks 10 years since Joe’s passing. The calendar includes 12 months of amazing images of Joe, his inspirational quotes and hand-written artifacts from his personal archive. Each month contains a photo worthy of framing – far more valuable than its selling price. If you’re a fan of  Joe’s you’ll really appreciate this calendar and you’ll be supporting Strummerville in the process.
