10 Best Cities to Live in the World 2015

Today, we’ll be featuring the 10 best cities in the world to live according to the Safe Cities Index 2015 published by the Economist Intelligent Unit (EIU), the Economist’s research arm. When tabulating these results each city was ranked across a range of indexes including safety, livability, cost of living, business environment, democracy index, and global food security. The total of these indexes is known as the “index of indexes” and is how they determine the best cities to live. So without further ado, the 10 best cities to live in the world in 2015 are:toronto best city to live in the world 2015

  1. Toronto, Canada – Average position across six EIU indexes: 17
  2. Montreal, Canada – Average position across six EIU indexes: 23
  3. Stockholm, Sweden – Average position across six EIU indexes: 25
  4. Amsterdam, Netherlands – Average position across six EIU indexes: 25
  5. San Francisco, United States – Average position across six EIU indexes: 26
  6. Melbourne, Australia – Average position across six EIU indexes: 27
  7. Zurich, Switzerland – Average position across six EIU indexes: 27
  8. Washington DC, United States – Average position across six EIU indexes: 27
  9. Sydney, Australia – Average position across six EIU indexes: 28
  10. Chicago, United States – Average position across six EIU indexes: 28

The only category where Toronto didn’t rank in the top 10 was a 70th place finish when it came to cost of living. However, it should be noted that Toronto did fare better in this category than most of the other cities in the top 10. Congratulations to Toronto for being recognized the way its citizen’s already see it, as the best city in the world to live (even in winter).
